Stating that strengthening ties between the industry and academic centers is a must, Mehdi Yousefi, MD of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, said that Technology Transfer Center has been established in the capital of Iran’s energy zone.
Iran’s oil industry strategically supports universities, scientific and educational centers in order to deploy modern technology and the latest know-how in the industry. Yousefi said this approach would help us to achieve the industry’s goals. He mentioned that Technology Transfer Center was stablished last year in the PSEEZ and since continuous meetings have been hold.
“During this time we signed contracts with Boushehr scientific centers worth IR.Rial 24 billion (USD 6.8 Million) which brought us USD 20.000 savings,” Yousefi said.
He expressed that university-industry cooperation should solve challenges of the industry. “Considering the value of technological activities in today’s life, we in Iran should provide the infrastructures for that,” he added.
Yousefi said that in the first 13 years of PSEEZ life gas production in the South Pars fields amounted to 270 million cubic meters, while in past two years, respecting the plans of the Ministry of Petroleum, the amount increased 170 million cm.
