Phase 19 of the supergiant South Pars gas field which Iran shares with neighboring Qatar in Persian Gulf waters has made over 93% progress, operator of the phase said.

Hamidreza Masoudi said the development project of the phase has made over 93% progress parallel with its inshore refinery facilities.
Drilling operations as well as laying down subsea pipelines for delivering the phases' gas output have been carried out so far, he added.

Masoudi said the phase will be fully developed by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2017.
He said Iranian developers have carried out all the operations regarding engineering, pre-startup, and startup of the phase, adding Iranian contractors also supplied the needed equipment and machinery for development of the phase.

He also said the safety record in the subsea pipe laying operations was broken as no injuries or fatal accidents were recorded during its progress.
He said $4.8b has been invested for completion of the phase.

Phase 19 is the first South Pars phase which is being carried out as a 35-month project.
Phase 19 development of South Pars is set to produce 50 mcm/d of sweet gas, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, 400 tons a day of sulfur, 1.05 million tons a year of liquefied petroleum gas and one million tons a year of ethane.

This development phase was awarded by Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) to a Petropars-led consortium of Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) in June 2010 under an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contract.
Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran are responsible for onshore installations and drilling operations.
