The gasoline production capacity of the Bandar Abbas Gas Condensates Refinery—aka Persian Gulf Star Refinery, reached 45 million liters per day as the facility launched its third phase, a senior Iranian energy official said.

Addressing a press conference in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on Wednesday, Alireza Sadiqabadi, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said now that the third phase development of the facility was on-stream, its gasoline production capacity had hit 45 million liters per day.

He said in the calendar year of 1396 (which ended on March 20 2018), the average gasoline production capacity of the country stood at 67.3 ml/d which was currently at 88 ml/d.

The NIORDC CEO said Iranian refineries had the capacity of supplying 97 ml/d of the item, adding in each phase of the refinery, 12 ml/d of Euro-4 gasoline or 15 ml/d of regular gasoline could be produced.

The official further said that in the calendar year of 1396, an average of 94 ml/d of gasoil was produced while in the current calendar year (1397), production of the item had risen by 21 ml/d.

“Of this amount, 40 ml/d of gasoil meets Euro-4 qualifications; an amount that would reach 52 ml/d by the end of the current calendar year,” Sadiqabadi added.

Elsewhere in the press conference, the official said that Iran’s oil refining capacity stood at 1.750 mbd which would be increased to 2.1 mbd by considering the processing capacity of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, Shana wrote.

The official also announced that the third phase of the refinery with 120,000 b/d of capacity would be launched in the future.
