During visit to the facility, Behzad Mohammadi, who is also deputy
petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, said the mega project was being
completed at an acceptable pace and it the refinery would come on-stream by
2020.
The CEO said the project was one of the key projects in Iran’s oil and
gas industry which would be fed by four NGL plants which made it different from
South Pars refineries which are fed by South Pars gas field.
The refinery is being developed for processing 2 billion cubic feed of
natural gas per day.
Once Gachsaran project, in southwestern Iran, comes online, Bidboland
will send 1.5 million tons of ethane to the facility, but before that, the
ethane will be used as feedstock by the petrochemical plants operating in
Mahshahr Petrochemical Zone, also in southwestern Iran.
