PSEEZ develops its tourism infrastructure

Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in order to create more jobs, persuade people to visit the region, and encourage more investment will develop its tourism infrastructure, managing director of PSEEZ announced.

Iran’s oil industry have unparalleled access to some of the country’s islands which are untouched. Coastlines of Siri, Lavan, and Kharg islands enjoy great landscape, natural and historical sites, this provides an opportunity to attract tourists. This adds to the inland tourism attractions within the oil industry.
Ministry of Petroleum in cooperation with Iran Culture, Heritage, and Tourism Organization conducted first public oil industry tours last year. The ministry also in order to develop tourism is designing and establishing petroleum museum in different parts of the country.
Nayband protected area, Siraf historical city, and also huge industrial units and gas storage units make the PSEEZ an ideal spot for visitors. Thus, developing tourism infrastructure of PSEEZ not only necessary for tourism purposes but it will help in sustaining the development of the region.
Managing director of PSEEZ, Mehdi Yousefi, said: “the adjacency of PSEEZ to Hormozgan, Boushehr, and Fars provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see industrial sites along natural resources.”
He mentioned the study of Kish-Assalouyeh-Boushehr tourism road by the Tehran University and said: “to do this infrastructure of Assalouyeh should be developed. At the New Year’s holiday (21 March 2016) an industrial tourism village was set up which was visited by 3000 tourists per day. Based on this experience a contract was signed to build a permanent touristic village.”
